Day Two

This morning we visit the unique, historic university city of Oxford with its honey-gold buildings, dreaming spires and riverside setting. We enjoy a 1 hour guided tour of breathtaking Bodleian Library, where we will see the Divinity School, Convocation House, Chancellor's Court and Duke Humphrey's Library. In the afternoon, we spend time at leisure exploring Oxford's history, famous people and old traditions. Attractions include beautiful Christ Church College (entrance to colleges is subject to availability) where many distinguished people have studied. More recently it has become famous for its connection to Harry Potter, where many scenes were shot.

Day Three

Today we visit Waddesdon Manor, built by Baron de Rothschild in 1874 to house his remarkable collection of fine art and provide a (very) hospitable environment for his many friends! The stunning manor house is built in the style of a French Renaissance ch√Ęteau, inspired by those in the Loire valley. Waddesdon was created to impress and it certainly does! We have free time for lunch before exploring the extensive grounds including the Rococo style Aviary, formal gardens and flamboyant array of statues and fountains.

B, D

Day Four

We spend today at leisure in Windsor, where there is lots to explore. Take a visit the Queen's favourite weekend home, Windsor Castle, the oldest and largest inhabited castle in the world (admission charges apply) and spend time exploring the impressive castle and St George's Chapel, where many royal couples have been married, including Prince Harry and Meghan Markle in 2018. Alternatively, take a scenic river cruise or explore the town's history and culture.

B, D

Day Five

On our final day we enjoy a leisurely breakfast before heading to Aylesbury where we enjoy some free time for heading home.
